Introduction

If you’re using Windows 11 and want all HTTP links to open automatically in Google Chrome (or any other preferred browser), this guide will walk you through the steps to set your default browser. This tutorial is simple, and by the end, you’ll ensure a seamless browsing experience every time you click a link.

Open the Default Apps Settings

  • Click the Start button or press the Windows key on your keyboard.
  • Select the Settings gear icon from the menu.
  • In the Settings window, click on Apps.
  • Choose Default apps in the left (or side) panel.

Search for HTTP

In the Default apps section – inside the “Set a default for a file type or link type” search textbox – type “HTTP”.

Select New Default Browser

Click on the default browser and select a new one from the list

Select Chrome (or the browser of your choice)

You should see Chrome as your new default browser.

From now one – any HTTP request (ones that originate when you click on the link in your Outlook) will be open using Chrome.
